Private preview
Glysten Personal puts net worth first: every account, house, loan and share of a business, what each was worth on a date, and how the total has moved. It has no journals, no debits and no credits, only your figures, in Glysten Books' clear look. It is in private preview, and not open yet.
In private preview: this page describes what is working there today, and what is planned.
How it works
A household is not a set of books. Personal starts from what you own and what you owe, and what that comes to.
Each account, the house, the investments, the loans and your share of each business: a name, what kind it is, where it is held and roughly what it is worth. A rough figure counts as your estimate until you record a real one.
Type each account's figure for the period, a sum like 12500+8200 if you like, or press ✓ for one you checked and found unchanged. Personal tells a figure somebody looked at this month from one nobody has opened in years.
Link a business to the books you keep for it in Glysten Books, choose a date, and preview: your share of its equity, or what it owes you. Nothing is written until you press Pull.
The total, drawn over the years as what it is made of, how much of it was actually measured, and the biggest figures nobody has looked at.
Set the net worth you are aiming for and the date. Personal works out the yearly growth that needs, beside what the last few years actually averaged.
Federal income tax, and in Oregon the state's, Metro's and Multnomah County's, from what you type. For any other state it says the estimate is federal only.
Every figure is a fact
A figure says this account was worth this much on this date. Typing a different one records a new figure that takes the old one's place, and the old one stays in the record underneath it.
A figure carried forward, or a rough estimate, wears a "not measured" tag, and the net worth screen says how much of the total was actually measured.
A frozen period is the record of what was believed then, so it takes nothing new.
The account's owner can change anything. Anybody else needs edit access to the household; with view access they can look.
With Glysten Books
For people who keep their businesses in Glysten Books, Personal takes what Books already knows, so none of it is typed twice.

Questions
Not yet. It is in private preview, and this page describes how it works. Leave your name with the form on this page and we will write to you when it opens. Glysten Books, for your buildings and businesses, is open now.
If you keep your businesses in Glysten Books in the same account, Personal can pull your share of a business's equity, or money a business owes you, straight from those books. It always shows a preview first, and a figure from Books never replaces yours in the record.
No. Figures are typed in, or pulled from Glysten Books. One connection to each bank, with each account sent to your books or to Personal, is planned.
No. It estimates the year's income tax from what you type on its screen: federal, and for Oregon the state, Metro and Multnomah County taxes. It is not a return, nothing is filed, and it is not tax advice.
